KEEN WireFrame Sketch
KEEN - my latest LITTLEST little project, let it be fast and painless. Here are some sketches for the initial mockup.

I like to run a lot of different mockups on paper before just hop onto the computer, because:
A) If I can think of it I can draw it (see results as I draw) not have to worry about which tools to select.
B) ANYTHING IS DEVELOP-ABLE, the question is only on MONEY + TIME FRAME, so that shouldn’t be involved in the first stage of the creative process. When we using computer software to develop prototypes - we tend to think about more technical stuff like is this doable? that in term crushes an idea before it has the chance to appear on paper/screen.
C) There are no bad ideas just blockhead people, ideas that doesn’t fit project’s budget/timeframe RIGHT NOW, doesn’t mean it isn’t good for later (a lot of times I’ve flipped through my moleskins from last year for inspirations) write/sketch it out, use some good elements from it and store it for later use.
D) The more you sketch the more common elements will began to pop out and that’s a good guide of a right direction. (View my above sketch: After Five versions I’ve noticed a pattern - I like the flipbook area to be bold + poping, also with logo on below the flipbook looks out of balance. With those hints in mind I created the last sketch)
E) Down to the point - it’s faster/easier to sketch Six wireframes under 10 min than using whatever fancy wireframe software.
With that said, let’s see what I have in mind: On the right I’ve listed all elements that’s needed to be contained on the page. On the left I ran a quick sketch of six very different wireframes. *I like the last sketch, might make that a final*
What’s Next? Good old Fireworks - for some digital fun.

Dannie, thanks for the mention. I too like using sketches as a fast way to figure things out.
An additional benefit if you show your sketches to clients is, they are loose enough to be open and not box in a client into feeling they have no room to maneuver around.
I’m also a huge fan of Fireworks for web design and icon work, especially since I’m a vector guy coming from an Adobe Illustrator perspective. :-)
