Central Park and beyond
12/11/2008Taking advantage of the sunny warm weather, yesterday, got up early in the morning, and spend half a day in the central park before meeting an old family friend for late lunch on Madison ave. Half way point, my camera ran out of battery, I guess all these worry about my memory card’s storage I forgot about the battery, however that’s an easy fix, just buy a cup of hot coco at the local Starbucks (which is equal to the same amount of pigeons in NYC) and recharge away, so the lesson - when traveling and touring always take your camera charger, I guess then - when buying a camera, take that into consideration as well, I had a tiny point and shoot, however it only charges via usb port, which means if i’m during sightseeing all day, the camera will only last for the first half. Good thing the DSLR has a tiny charger the size of a cellphone.

Call me weird, I like to go shopping and sightseeing by myself, because not everyone will always agree on everything, I have a list of things to do, stuffs to buy and I’ll stick to that, so instead of turn a wonderful day into a day of sad faces - I’m more of the person that takes a few hours away from the party and then meet up for lunch. Must have been 9 or 10am, I arrived at central park, after visiting my fav. bagel place to score myself a goat cheese and smoked salmon bagel (bagel and lox), then from Fifth ave. entrance I’ve arrived at this NYC landmark, don’t think anything beats, walking in central park while listening to ‘learning french’ audio book (feels like I’m elsewhere), while eating my fav. bagel. Anyways the walk was wonderful, just what I needed to get out of the city, took way too much photos of birds and leaves and benches, heehee.
Today will be fun packed day, as i’ll be visit the flower district, soho and beyond. jam packed touristy fun! Thursday and Friday will rain pretty heavy so I’ll prob. stick to indoor activities. On Saturday I’ll meet up with an awesome and very popular NYC food blogger and she will take me to a newly opened place on 13th st 2nd ave - Newly opened as in, opening this Friday, so it would be an awesome experience to visit it first thing on Saturday, later we’ll head to Momofuku for lunch and a short interview. Sunday I’ll be all about Hell’s kitchen Flea mart… nothing beats a good NYC flea market.
As for now I’m just chilling and blogging, later I’ll get another goat cheese, smoked salmon bagel, can’t get enough of these - one thing I missed so much while living in Boston: Zsquare on harvard Sq. has goat cheese with smoked salmon crepes - which is the closest thing I can get.
